Sit back, relax and enjoy this leisurely Shikara ride on Dal Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir.

Dal Lake sits 6000' in the Himalaya Mountains and is famous for it's luxurious house boats where people spend weeks floating around the lakes 18 square miles. Day tripping on the lake is also a favorite activity via the ornate water taxis (shikaras) where passengers can take in the breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains, the floating water gardens and the bird life, as well as purchase a variety of goods offered by the boat vendors including flowers, foods and even personal items such as toothpaste.

Dal Lake was described by Sir Walter Lawerence as the "Lake par-excellence" and is considered the "Jewel in the Crown" of Kashmir.

Close by to Dal Lake is the famous Shalimar Gardens. Known for it's beautiful rose gardens and the namesake Shalimar perfume.
